Xu
Liu is currently a tenured full Professor in the School of Statistics and
Management at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. He received Ph.D.
in Statistics at Yunnan University in January 2011. Xu was an NSF postdoctoral
fellow in the Department of Statistics at Northwestern University during
2011-2013, and in the Department of Statistics and Probablity at Michigan State
University during 2013-2016. His current research interests include deep
learning and AI, theory and algorithms for high-dimensional data analysis,
tensor modelling, and their various applications in bioinformatics. He
published more than 20 papers on influential and prestigious academic journals
including JASA, Biometrika, JoE, JMLR, Biometrics, Bioinformatics, Statistica
Sinica. He is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Statistical Theory and
Applications and International Journal of Organizational and Collective
Intelligence.
Research Interest: Generative
models; Representation learning; Deep Learning; Transfer learning; High
Dimensional Data Analysis; Nonparametric and Semiparametric Models.
