										Research Performance of Monkeypox: A Bibliometric Analysis
										</dc:title><dc:creator>Yuh-Shan Ho</dc:creator><dc:creator>Nora Beatriz Molina</dc:creator><dc:description>&lt;p&gt;Background: Mpox (formerly monkeypox) remains a significant zoonotic threat and a designated Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) by the World Health Organization. Despite evolving containment strategies, its threat to global health security persists. This study provides a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of the mpox research landscape to identify publication performance.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Methods: Data spanning 1991 to 2025 were retrieved from the Clarivate Analytics SCI-EXPANDED database. A total of 6,052 documents were analyzed using six distinct publication indicators alongside their corresponding citation metrics to evaluate research performance and impact.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Results: Research articles constituted the primary document type. While the Infectious Diseases category was the most prolific, publications within General and Internal Medicine yielded the highest citation impact. The Journal of Medical Virology emerged as the most productive outlet, whereas the MMWR-Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report hosted the most frequently cited literature. Geographically, the USA led in total volume across all six indicators; however, UK-based research demonstrated superior average citation impact. Top institutional contributors included the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, with the US Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) achieving the highest citation density.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Conclusion: This study delineates a robust expansion in mpox literature, characterized by the historical dominance of Western institutions alongside burgeoning global diversification. By identifying high-impact publications and mapping research trajectories through 2025, these findings provide a strategic roadmap for future research priorities and highlight the necessity of enhanced international collaboration in addressing viral zoonoses.&lt;/p&gt;</dc:description>
