Muhammad Junaid, received his BS (Hons.) in Environmental Sciences (2008-2012) from Sustainable Development Study Centre (SDSC), Government College University (GCU), Lahore.   Then, he earned his MPhil. (2012-2014) in Environmental Biology and Ecotoxicology from Department of Environmental Sciences, Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. On the basis of academic and research achievements, he later secured PhD Scholarship for International Students at Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Beijing, China. He completed his PhD degree in Environmental Sciences (2015-2018) from University of Chinese Academy of Science (UCAS), Beijing, China with distinction and won International Excellent Student Award from UCAS for 2017 and 2018, and Research Award from Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC). Previously, he worked as visiting post-doctoral fellow in Human Biomonitoring Research Unit, Luxembourg Institute of Health, Luxembourg. Recently, he has completed his first postdoctoral training at School of Environment and Energy, Peking University (PKU), China. Currently, he is working as post-doctoral fellow at South China Agriculture University. He has authored more than 50 publications including research articles, review articles and book chapters in well reputed journals such as Water Research, Journal of Hazardous Materials, Biomaterials, Environmental Science, Nano, Environmental Pollution, etc. He has edited an eBook entitled, “Marine Pollution: Current Status, Impact, and Remedies” with Bentham Publications, 2019. His research vision is to understand the environmental and toxicogenetic implications of emerging and legacy organic pollutants, and development of methods for the detection of those pollutants in biological and environmental matrices.
